         NOTES FROM PRESIDENT DICK LOWMAN

Sorry that my Note was lost in “la la land” for the March/April Newsletter. But when you have
a great Newsletter Editor and Chapter Secretary, they can find things to write about. My thanks to
both.
I would like to congratulate the members who were selected for the Rally Master and Rally
Attendance Awards for 2007. It does pay to attend a rally as well as to host one of your own.
The Chapter Rally in Pomona was a surprise. It went well and I think all in attendance had a
great time. There was so much to see and do. Our Executive/Chapter Meeting was well attended, We
had Jay Blumenthal, the President of the INTO Chapter, as a guest speaker and his message was on
the FMCA benefits to us as a member. Some awards were given to Region 9 (for attending several
rallies). ROADTREK INTERNATIONAL was also honored for 15 years as a Chapter in FMCA. I also received a very nice award.
I hope you are making your travel plans for our next Chapter Rally in South Dakota at the
Hart Ranch, It looks as if lots of things are planned for us to enjoy, so let’s support the hard work of Region 6. Check the newsletter for more information on this rally and also look at the FMCA and ROADTREK INTERNATIONAL Rally dates for 2009 and start making your plans. We have one next year in Canada; I’m not sure if a passport will be needed, but it may be time to get your application in for one.
And I’m not sure how high the gas/fuel prices will get, but maybe we can help our fuel mileage
if we SLOW down, check our tire pressure and keep our machines tuned.
I would like to thank Jan and Bob Lee for handling our Roadtrek International newsletter for
the past 11 years, They have spent many hours putting it together for our reading enjoyment. There
were bumps in the road, but Bob handled them with great ease. Thank you. I would also like to welcome Teresa and Brad Fancy who will start with our next edition. They tell me it will be a smooth transition, but if not we will adjust. Thanks, Teresa and Brad.
And finally, many thanks for all the cards and calls during my illness. We’ll see you on the
road in a ROADTREK.
Sincerely,

Dick Lowman
