Hillsborough River State Park
Join us for three days of camping at Hillsborough River State Park. Just A Few Minutes from Downtown Tampa at 15402 US-301 North, Thonotosassa, FL 33592. November is ideal camping weather in Tampa Florida, averaging a daily maximum temperature that's between 76 and 80 degrees.
This diverse park offers a refuge from city life. Visitors can kayak or canoe class II river rapids, rare in Florida, hike seven miles of nature trails and swim in an ADA accessible swimming pool. Also, you can explore and learn the history of reconstructed Fort Foster which is now part of the Park. Bike and kayak rentals are available.
Try to reserve a site on Loop 2 to be as close as possible to the Pavilion. Recommended are sites 29-44 and 74-77.
Tuesday check-in: At the pavilion 1-4 pm. A potluck dinner Tuesday night a 5:00 pm at the Pavilion located behind the site # 38 followed by an evening campfire and social.
Wednesday, we will visit the Yuengling Brewery the oldest operating brewing company in the United States, established in 1829. It is one of the largest breweries by volume in the country.
Wednesday or Thursday visit the Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) a scientific playground with more than 100 hands-on activities!
Thursday morning the campground offers a guided tour of Fort Foster for $2.
